Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program
Sheraz was a first generation college student and graduated from Ithaca College in May of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. During his undergraduate career he held many leadership positions including President of the Residence Hall Association, a member of the Regional Board of Directors for the North East Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls, and as a Diversity Peer Educator. In addition, some of his jobs included Orientation Leader, Student Leadership Consultant, and Resident Assistant. Through his commitment to service, Sheraz was one of ten students to be awarded Ithaca’s Campus Life Award. After graduating, he went on to work full time at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire as a Resident Director and Area Coordinator where he supervised Resident Assistants, created 2 student organizations, attended numerous professional conferences, and in his spare time, was a certified INSANITY instructor at the school’s fitness center. Sheraz is now pursuing a Master’s degree in the Student Personnel in Higher Education program where he hopes to expand his knowledge in the field and apply it to his career.
