Jose and Izy Alvarez
May 5, 2016
We are two ordinary siblings with an extraordinary purpose. The iReflect Movement began as simply a vision. Our goal was to inspire the youth of Hamilton County, our hometown. We realized that although we did not have a degree, a job, or a title, we at least had a voice and passion. In January of 2015, we took a leap of faith. With a team of friends from the University of Florida who all share a similar passion, we hosted our first youth conference, iReflect2015.
The three-day conference consisted of empowering, encouraging and edifying youth of Hamilton County, in every area of their lives. We had powerful speakers join us from all over Florida. Every single individual at the conference could feel the hope, love, and joy resonating throughout the weekend. We were able to put this conference together with support from people who share a similar vision. As founders of the iReflect Movement, we hope that people will see our passion and join the movement.
iReflect2016 is scheduled for June 10th through the 12th. We hope to register even more individuals this year and take on this challenge with a bigger passion, dream and purpose. We thank the University of Florida and the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program for introducing us to amazing people, who are now a part of the iReflect team, and for helping bring out the leaders within us.Tweet
